Andrea started her working career on the “dark side” as graduate sales trainee in the Information Technology (IT) sector. Eventually Andrea “saw the light” and moved into supplier management and them procurement. In her current role as Head of Procurement at Housing New Zealand (HNZ), Andrea has agency-wide responsibility for strategic sourcing and supplier management across all categories ranging from residential construction, remediation and maintenance, to Information Technology and learning & development, plus everything in between. Andrea has led the Procurement function at HNZ since 2013. The Agency and the procurement function has seen a number of challenges, changes and opportunities during her tenure ranging from repairing and rebuilding HNZ’s Canterbury property portfolio following the 2010/2011 earthquakes to construction targets significantly growing under the Labour/NZ First/Greens coalition government.
